John Renbourn at St Brides

Sometimes it is only a B&W photograph that will capture the subject, and this is one of those times; of the photographs taken it is the black and white ones that worked best. Bondwoman and myself returned to the Acoustic Music Center at St Brides last night to see John Renbourn, and to be honest it was as different as chalk and cheese to our encounter with Bert Jansch at the same venue. John Renbourn engaged far more with the audience, played a wider variety of music, took the piss out of himself brilliantly etc. etc.. At the end of the day, where the Bert Jansch gig had a funereal atmosphere, last night it was a warm and cosy one…
